Adjustment of a pressure differential regulator

Adjustment of pressure differential regulator is carried out after filling the pipeline with water during commissioning of the entire equipment. If the setting pressure and the position on the adjustment scale are precisely known, pressure adjustment is allowed before filling the pipeline with water.

The pressure regulator is adjusted by rotating the adjustment screw, which compresses the spring until the pressure difference at the impulse take-off point is balanced with the specified value. Rotating the adjustment screw smoothly changes the setting pressure, and each number of turns corresponds to a certain pressure difference within the supported range.

The pressure regulator is checked by changing the water flow rate passing through it. The water flow rate is changed by any regulating or shut-off valve installed on the same pipeline. The speed of response and the accuracy of pressure maintenance by the regulator are noted during this process. The allowable calibration error of the spring at the extreme values of the adjustment range is 10%.

To facilitate pressure adjustment and control of the regulator's operation at the impulse take-off points, pressure gauges should be installed.
