Pressure adjustment in the expansion tank should be performed in the following sequence.
1. Fill out the form provided in the section Expansion tank calculation, and as a result of the calculation, you will obtain all the necessary parameters for tank setup according to the given conditions.
2. Expansion tanks are supplied pre-filled with gas. Before connecting the tank to the heating system, set the Pgas – initial gas chamber pressure according to the value indicated in the calculation results. To do this, you may need to reduce the pressure by releasing gas through the valve or use a compressor to pump it in through the same valve.
3. Connect the tank to the heating system and slowly fill it with water until the system pressure equals the gas chamber pressure of the expansion tank Pgas.
4. Turn on the circulation pump and continue filling the system with water until the initial operating pressure Pcold is established at the expansion tank connection point. At this moment, the reserve operating water volume will enter the tank.
5. After connecting the heat source and switching to maximum temperature operation, each kilogram of heat carrier will expand by the value of the specific volume increase specified in the calculation results, and the expansion tank will receive the heat carrier in a volume equal to the usable tank capacity. At this point, the pressure in the tank will rise to the maximum operating pressure Phot specified in the calculation.
