Globe valve is a pipeline fitting designed to stop the flow.
Working environments
Valves are installed on pipelines that transport water and steam with a wide range of working temperatures and pressures. All globe valves that you will find in our catalog can be used to stop the flow of water. Please check with suppliers for the possibility of using them with other working environments.
Application areas
Currently, Globe valves have lost their positions in building engineering systems but are still used in steam pipelines and in technological installations with high requirements for sealing the flow. In addition, in modern engineering systems, valves have evolved into seat balancing and regulating valves.
Despite the fact that the valve is a globe valve and throttling of the flow is normatively prohibited, some manufacturers do not exclude the possibility of using globe valves for throttling.
Advantages
- The design is suitable for repair.
- Wide range of working parameters.
- High sealing of the flow stoppage.
- Hydraulic shocks are excluded when opening.
- Some types of valves can be used to throttle the flow.
- No need for long levers and electric drives with high closing force.
Disadvantages
- High price
- Not fully passable
- Complex construction
- High weight and dimensions
- Complex shape of the flow part
- High hydraulic resistance
- The presence of stagnation zones in the flow part
- The need for servicing globe valves with gland stem seals.
- The valve is one-way, that is, the supply of working medium is allowed only in one direction (under the valve seat).
- It is impossible to quickly stop the flow, as several turns of the wheel are required to close.
