Types of check valves

Disc check valve

Disc check valve - is characterized by a low price, low metal capacity and ease of installation. During opening, the disc of the valve moves along the axis of the flow remaining in the passage, which leads to low flow capacity.

Check valves of this type are used for water, compressed air, and non-aggressive liquids. They are widely used in heating and water supply systems due to their ease of installation and low cost.

The body of the check valve is made of brass or stainless steel, the disc is made of brass or polymer, the seal is made of NBR or EPDM, the spring is made of stainless steel.

Lift check valve

Lift check valve is characterized by high reliability and repairability, they do not require high-quality working environment or installation and provide high sealing.

Lift check valves are used in industrial facilities and boiler rooms, on pipelines transporting compressed air and steam.

The valve disc is held in the closed position by weight and can be supplemented with a spring. Spring lift check valves do not require complex installation and can be installed in any position. The valve disc plane is parallel to the pipeline axis, and the displacement axis of the valve is perpendicular to the pipeline axis. When the flow is directed under the valve, the valve is displaced, opening the passage, and when the flow is reversed, the pressure difference on the valve becomes an additional force that holds the valve closed.

The valve body and threaded cover are made of cast iron, steel or bronze, the valve disc is made of steel or brass, the spring is made of stainless steel.

Ball check valve

Ball check valve is characterized by high flow capacity, a simple flow path design, and high sealing tightness. Check valves of this type are not demanding in terms of the quality of the working environment and can be used on pipelines transporting cold water, viscous, and non-homogeneous liquids.

The closure element is a rubber-coated cast iron ball that is held in the closed position by the force of gravity. When the flow direction is forward, the ball valve moves to a chamber located outside the passage cross-section, and when the flow direction is reversed, the ball closes the passage cross-section.

Ball check valves are installed on vertical pipelines with a flow direction from bottom to top or on a horizontal pipeline with the ball chamber on top.

The valve body and cover are made of cast iron, and the valve closure element is a rubber-coated cast iron ball.

Rotary check valve

Rotary check valve is characterized by high flow capacity and reliability, non-demanding to the quality of the heat carrier and repairability. The closure element is a steel disc that radially shifts when the valve is opened. Rotary check valves are installed in heating plants and boiler rooms, as well as in industrial facilities.

In valves of this type, the closure is held in the closed position by the force of gravity, so they can be installed on horizontal pipelines and vertical pipelines with a downward flow direction.

The valve body is made of cast iron, steel or bronze, the closure is made of steel.
